SiLibeads Water glass beads are soda-lime glass beads with polished surface used as filter material

Conventional filter materials, such as sand or quartz grains, are extremely sensitive to attack by fungi, bacteria, germs, algae and calcification due to its porous and irregular structure.

Contamination and germs settle in the irregularities of the coarse-pored surfaces of the filter material, multiply uncontrollably and indefinitely in the hot water of the swimming pool.

They are never completely removed, even during the backwashing process.

This requires an unnecessarily high use of chemical disinfectants that are expensive and sometimes harmful to the environment.
