SiLiBeads type M glass beads are used for many applications, for example: mixing beads, closing and stirring beads for aerosols, filtration beads for drinking water.

SiLibeads type M glass beads are produced from high purity molten glass and then formed through a rotary pressing process. The process is extremely complex, but allows to obtain balls with a very great roundness for diameters up to approx. 25 mm.

Areas of use:

Closure balls

Silibeads Type M glass beads are used as sealing beads for bottles of spirits or olive oil, for example, in order to prevent spoilage of the product and to guarantee its content.

Mechanical coatings

Silibeads Type M glass beads are used for the mechanical coating of small metal parts by a special plating process (mechanical coating).

Mixing balls

SiLibeads type M glass beads are used in diameters from 1.5mm to 16.0mm as stirring and mixing beads for aerosol spraying. The glass beads ensure a homogeneous mixture of the ingredients.

Grinding balls or dispersion balls

Due to their high degree of purity, SiLibeads type M glass beads also have very good properties as grinding and dispersing beads for wet grinding of pigments, agrochemicals, pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations.

Support material and filter pack in drinking water wells

SiLibeads type M glass beads are used as a support and filtration material in the construction of drinking water wells. Glass beads replace filter gravel. Filtering gravel can also be replaced by filter glass beads in filtration systems, for example in swimming pool construction.

Main advantages:

- Wide range of sizes in the range d = 1.5 - 21 mm

- Low diameter tolerances for single balls and batches: d K, L ≤0.2 - 0.5 mm (depending on the size of the balls)

- Absence of foreign objects thanks to the special sorting process

- Clean and polished surfaces (also available in matte finish on request)

- High stability of the chemical composition of the soda-lime glasses used

- Suitable for contact with foodstuffs
