The PGX + measures contact angle (dynamic and static), surface tension and surface energy.
The device deposits a drop of water of a few µl on the surface depending on what has been requested and then analyzes the shape of the drop at a rate of 80 images per second. For most tests, deionized water is used, however the use of other liquids is also possible.
Characteristics :
- Compact device, easy to handle
- Full control of the test from the software
- No sample preparation
- Many test fluids possible
- USB powered
Complies with international standards:
- TAPPI T458
- ASTM D-724
- ASTM D-5946
Portable instrument
The PGX + is portable and therefore easy to use even in the field. The small instrument is connected to a PC or laptop and is powered by USB.
Static and dynamic contact angle
Almost every 1 hundred seconds (80 frames per second), an image is taken and the device measures the change in contact angle. This thus makes it possible to determine the static or dynamic contact angle.
Surface tension
The shape of the hanging droplet is recorded by the camera. The shape of the droplet gives information about the intermolecular forces.
Surface energy
Surface "free" energy (SFE) is the force available on a solid surface to attract liquid molecules.
Optional : a metering pump to use high viscosity products
