The CTX texturometer can reproduce most constraints using a wide range of accessories and preset programs. The principle consists of the application of tensile or compressive forces on the sample, then the observation of its behavior. The resistance of the material, expressed in Newtons or grams, is measured using a calibrated load cell. It can be used both in quality control and in R&D to qualify new materials.

Unlike the CT3 texturometer, the CTX texturometer has interchangeable sensors, thus allowing only one device to be used for a wide variety of products.
