DeFelsko thickness gauge blocks

Certified feeler shims are ideal for checking the accuracy and proper functioning of coating thickness gauges. They can thus be an integral part of an internal or ISO quality control system. Many organizations recommend that meters be checked each time they are put into service and at regular time intervals during use. DeFelsko certified coating thickness shims are perfectly suited for this type of use and are linked to an accredited national metrology body.

Certified coated metal shims and polystyrene blocks

Recommended for checking the correct operation and accuracy of all type 1 (Mechanical) and type 2 (Electronic) thickness gauges, using magnetic induction, eddy currents or ultrasound for measuring measured. Can be used in a calibration laboratory, on site or in a production unit Shims with steel or aluminum supports, composed of 4 plates presented in a protective case Polystyrene standard in the form of 4 protected blocks in a box Storage Supplied with calibration certificate attached to NIST or PTB, allowing traceability of standards identified by individual serial number Certified and labeled in mils and microns units.

Soft plastic shims

• Simulates a coating on a support. The performance of the thickness gauge can thus be easily verified at regular intervals, as required by international test methods.
• For use with electronic Type 2 thickness gauges
• Protects the probe from shock, or premature wear when placed on a hot or rough surface
• Can be placed on top of a soft or sticky coating to obtain thickness measurements without sinking into the film to be measured.

Certified plastic shims

• Certified plastic shims are an economical alternative to precision metal shims but they are less precise
• Each wedge is packed in its own protective pouch
• A calibration certificate connected to NIST is delivered with each shim or each set of shims
• Certified and labeled in mils and microns units
• Available individually or by set of 8 shims: 25, 25, 50, 125, 250, 500, 1000 and 1500 microns
• Optional 11 micron shim also available

Non-certified plastic shims

• Provide a quick way to check your thickness gauges by allowing the operator to take a few measurements
• Can be used to protect the probe when surfaces are hot, rough or sticky
• Labeled in mils and microns units
• Available in sets of 5 shims: 25, 50, 125, 250 and 500 microns
• Optional calibration certificate available.
